At Foxwell Vet, we follow a simple, effective prevention plan for fleas, ticks, worms, and heartworm. If you’d like guidance on your pet’s preventative care, our experienced nurses are happy to help, or you can book an appointment with one of our vets.

For heartworm, we recommend the annual SR-12 injection, given at the same time as your pet’s yearly health check. This provides safe, year-long protection and is easier to keep on schedule than monthly preventatives.

For fleas and ticks, we recommend long-lasting preventatives available as convenient spot-ons or chews, with options that last from 3 to 6 months. These products help protect your pet against deadly paralysis ticks and irritating fleas.

For worming, puppies need treatment every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age, then monthly until 6 months, and every 3 months for life. Adult dogs should continue with worming every 3 months for life. Cats also benefit from a simple spot-on treatment that provides protection against multiple parasites.
